FS series chuck body is made from drop forged of high grade steel.

Chuck body is precision finished and have a high polish finished and all bearing surfaces are carefully hardened. Scroll plate is drop forged of fine alloy steel, and carefully case hardened. Thread flanks are ground on both sides. Precision grinding of the scroll plate and jaw teeth prevents deformation from heat treatment, allows for uniform gripping force on all jaw teeth, and maintains the accuracy for the entire clamping range over longer lifetime. Three pinion design with each pinion ground and hardened.

Both side of jaw teeth and guide are fully ground and hardened to HRC 58-62. A serialized set of jaws are then finished, ground, and lapped on their matched chuck body to achieve a greater accuracy.

Each set of jaw will be assembled to the designated chuck body undergoing tight tolerance grinding process to achieve exceptional accuracy above the industrial DIN standard accuracy specification.
